Top FMA seminar: Tuhon Ray Dionaldo and GM Datu Dieter Knüttel

The TOP-FMA seminar featuring Tuhon Ray Dionaldo (FCS, Florida) and GM Datu Dieter Knüttel (Modern Arnis – DAV, Dortmund) took place on July 4th and 5th, 2026.

The goal was to share commonalities, differences, and exciting material with the nearly 130 participants.

Top-FMA seminar: day 1

This video documents the instruction from Day 1, during which Tuhon Ray taught two sessions. In one session, he demonstrated the analogy between the single stick and the bolo within drills such as Tapi-Tapi. In the other, he taught knife tappig and knife disarms.

Datu Dieter’s topic for Day 1 was also Tapi-Tapi, and he taught effective control holds and squeezing techniques.

Datu Dieter demonstrated unarmed joint-lock techniques that are rarely used or that held a surprise in store for the attacker.
To conclude, Tuhon Ray and Datu Dieter taught a joint session focusing on the technique and variations of the “diving throw.”
