Modern Arnis Balintawak:
In 1989 Fred asked Grandmaster Remy Presas to teach him what he had learned from Anciong Bacon the founder of Balintawak.
Over several years and multiple one week stays at Fred’s family home, GM Presas explained the difference between the Modern and the traditional numbering system of Angle 1 to 12 and how to apply counter to counter for each angle, using the traditional sequence and method of teaching.
Everything you ever learned in Modern Arnis can and should fit in this counter to counter flow drill.

established Cyclone Fighting Arts in 1989 in Vancouver, Canada.
Direct student of the late Grandmaster Remy Presas from 1986, Fred hosted and assisted GMRemy Presas with seminars and summer camps in North America.
Fred studied with Datu Shishir Inocalla, Sensei David Harris (Fook Yueng’s top student), the legendary Fook Yeung (who taught Bruce Lee in Seattle for 7 years), Jesse Glover (Bruce Lee first student), Maestro Sonny Umpad and other experts in the field of combat.
He holds multiple blackbelts and instructor levels in different styles.
For years Fred worked in the field of Personal Security/Body Guarding to businesses and individuals, most notably the Blues Legend B.B. King.
Fred conducted workshops across Canada, USA, England, France, Norway, Germany, Mexico and Columbia and appeared on BCTV, CBC Radio, Check TV and Canada Am.
